One time, I received an invitation to take part in a sharing session at a vocational school.
The topic of the sharing session was about preventing violence and intolerance in schools in Jakarta.
Violence and intolerance are often experienced or heard by students at school, outside school, or in their environment from sources. After going through many sessions or discussions. I wonder why this sharing session did not get serious feedback or enthusiasm from the students.
If we hear and watch the news, this issue has become a sin in the education system in Indonesia. It could be that the students involved in the sharing session actually do not know about the problem or issue, or they do have experience in this case.
In this way, the discussion atmosphere does not reach higher issues and how students should respond if they become victims or are involved.
Therefore, I suggest that we need to invite students who have the enthusiasm to fight this behavior.
What for? To prevent violence and intolerance at school, both outside groups and within groups, not only students have this knowledge, but also the enthusiasm to become a group or community that fights violent behavior and intolerance.
